I can't take it anymore. Where did I put the shotgun?

Who's the shotgun for? Can't be the Smew, if you can't see one, what chance of shooting one?!

Don't worry, they'll all be winging there way back in their dozens come the second winter period

Ha ha. Just opened the Easter Egg and the chocs that come with it are pretentiously titled: Seduction, Desire, Passion, Lust, Original Sin, Temptation, and a scarily appropriate last one - I'll pm it to the first person who can guess what it's called (not you Laura since I just told you).

Yay! Well done, that boy. Obsession chocolate on its way by pm - not sure if it works for men, mind you, but will give it a go.

Helen - I didn't see Smew this evening if its any consolation. Didn't really look though. Keep watching my south lincs patching thread to see just how long they linger in to the spring!!!!

Don't worry they will be back by December.

I think in December I'll give you my mobile number and a £10 topup card and get you to call me every time there's a glimpse!

But given that it's a 20-minute drive from here I guess it could still keep ending badly. ;)

So, are you going to resort to ticking birds on the basis of someone sending you a photo message of one?
Let's face it, with your hit-rate on sm**s, its not a bad plan..

Hmm. I should have thought of that with divers...

Hadn't occurred to me but now that you mention it...

Anyone want to text me the Blue Rock Thrush? ;)

Now that I've asked you to let me know when you see it, Jos, you will be tainted with my curse and you will never see another Smew again!

Oh well... at least its on my year list ;)

No amusing tales to tell today Helen?

Couldn't think of anything at the time. Trying hard to think of something just for you........ Nope, still nothing.

Anyone else got an amusing tale for my thread to entertain Laura?

Got a little Smew tale, sure that might amuse someone - a little flock of 33 on the patch today, some right stunning males engaged in display and generally being right nice birds in front of their missus's ;)

But better than that, found a second for the country today ;) Now off out to the forest now, so will update my thread tomorrow

33! A likely story.

Congrats on the country second, though. Will look forward to reading what it was tomorrow.
