Some of you might be interested in my vacation spot story.
Spending 2 weeks at my brothers place in New Brunswick (East Canada) on the Tobique River. It's a small size river with mostly shallow water (secluded).
We are 30' above the water on a raised deck with zero flies! I know!
In front of us lies the river 50' across with a small field of corn on the other side. Trees are everywhere.
The birds are all local residents normal to this region, however, my brother has a pair of bald eagles which have nested here for the last 10 years (returning to this region). Each year one or two chicks would hatch and survive due to the abundance of food.
Each day while we enjoy the sun the two young ones can be heard from sun up to sun down. They are currently in the beginning stages of learning to fish for themselves. I find them on the shore early each morning waiting for a big slow meal. This region does have more eagle families spread out to 30 miles to the north.
One day last week we were delighted by the sight of 12 Bald Eagles in a lazy thermal over the small field across the river. They shared several thermals over a 2 hour period then vanished. Two of this years offspring were with the parents that day.
Was it a family reunion?
