Just like to say hi to all, I live in a village with the country side on my doorstep, always had an interest in birds and I remember the day a goldfinch visited my garden.
The story started with putting feeders out to try and attract the smaller birds, blue tits etc, as we have always fed the larger birds on a daily basis, the feeders worked, the smaller colourful birds started to arrive, I got more interested in the birds, but the bird that did not arrive was the goldfinch, did a bit research and found the Nyjer seeds is what I needed, so was disappionted that after 3 or 4 weeks still no goldfinch, until one day got home from work and saw the most beautiful bird feeding on the nyjer seeds, and yes he or she had arrived. The next day there was a flock/charm of around 10/15 goldfinnch feeding away, what a lovely sight ,and this was a reugular occurrence, true story.
