Hi all. My first time post here. Ive just returned to the uk after a few years spent in east africa. Just realised what a priviledge that was - id see more bird varieties in an hour stuck in traffic than i can in a week of dedicsted pursuit in the uk. Any tips on where i might spot some of the uk/east africa migratory species would be greatly apprecited!

Hi Brynbird and a warm welcome from me too.

All things Scottish can be found here. Also, keep an eye on threads titled something like Scottish Bashes; we try to meet up occasionally and they're always great fun. You'd be most welcome to join us on another if you can manage and we're finally allowed to meet up again.

You don't say where you're based, so if you look at our Opus articles and pick the relevant area of Scotland, you should find lots of places worth visiting. If you then need more info on them, just post into the Scotland Patch forum, using the link above (or come back here and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
