I live in the Breckland area of the county of Norfolk (England UK) and have recently become interested in the birds around the wetlands/fens of the villages of Shropham and Snetterton (famous for it's racing circuit.)

I am a novice and only know a handful of birds that I have recently seen and been able to identify in my Collins Bird Guide or by using the internet. My favourite is the Little Egret that I watched fishing in the shallows. I have also seen ducks, geese, swans and circling above Kites and Buzzards. There are other birds in flight between ponds/lakes that I am learning to identify. I would be grateful if members of FB could recommend books specifically about birds that live in these kinds of environments. Thank you.

Hi Claire and a warm welcome to you from me too.

If you could get yourself up to Titchwell, the RSPB visitor centre will have an assortment of books, some of which will centre around the habitats. You should find the staff there pretty helpful too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.
