Hi from an old recently retired guy called Robert actually. Yorkshire UK, worked outside mostly, so not exactly new to birdwatching, always liked photography, but not really bird photography, so as to not be idle and in the house everyday, a bit of "trying" to photgraph birds is something to try, I have been taking photo's of trains for over 10yrs, much easier than birds I'll say, have a canon 100-400mm and a sigma 150-600 in the bigger lenses, a few canon cameras and plenty of time to waste.
Not that easy to find good places local to try getting bird photo's, been trying, but not the best time of year now, plus expensive travel due to fuel cost.
But.....life goes on. :)

Hi Robert and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Ideas for places to go to in Yorkshire can be found in our Opus articles. The Yorkshire ones are here: Category:Yorkshire - BirdForum Opus

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news. It would be lovely if we could see some of your pictures in the Gallery too.
