Hi, new to this forum. Been a keen birdwatcher for many years, but have an appalling memory, so I can never remember the differences between a pintail, a shelduck or a mandarin....!
so I enjoy guided walks & I'm a member of 2 local bird clubs. Recently saw bearded tits for the first time at Alkborough Flats, after numerous attempts to see them previously!
I'm a regular visitor to The Gambia, & returning in 2025. I have a great birding guide there I've known for18 years, who is a great friend too.
Also had an amazing trip to Costa Rica this year where I saw my dream bird... the resplendent quetzal!

Ps: basic question here!! How do I put a new post on a forum? Clicked numerous things but can't figure it out. Just wanted to post about upcoming trip to Gambia

Hi wildkiwi and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

First of all find the subforum you wish to post your new thread in... click on one of the headings on the Forums page here: BirdForum If you need advice on which one would be best, please don't be afraid to ask.

Then when your selected forum has opened, there is a large red button near the top right "Post Thread". Click on that.

Give your thread a title then type your message in the text box. Don't forget to submit it when you've finished.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.
