Help for Kenya snake....Mamba or Boomslang? (1 Viewer)

If the photo shows it accurately, the head shape is better for boomslang. Not sure if there are other possibilities.
A common mistake apparently, this is probably a Spotted Bush Snake, here's one we saw in Kruger and I too, fiirst thought it was a Boomslang.

Thanks for that fellas. So I didn't need to be shaking when I took it!!

Probably not as much as I did when this freshly dead Black Mamba, wrapped it's tail around my arm as I laid it out to try and measure it.

I've never seen a Green Mamba but did see a Boomslang & 3 Black Mambas on a trip to Zambia. The guides often picked up on alarm calls of birds & I photographed a Black Mamba above me in a tree trying to raid a weaver (don't remember the species now) nest.

My pic was in Zambia too.
