Hi! First time poster - long time bird of prey lover.

My friend in central Iowa snapped this photo. I'm trying to identify it. I keep leaning towards a Brown Falcon or some type of morph. It's beautiful!

Looks to be a Red-tailed Hawk ;)

I know this was taken in the US but it is always a good idea to put the location and time of year a pic was taken ;)
 
LOL, I don't mean time of day but time of year for those that are not from your area to help I D ;) No problems.
 
Hello and welcome to the forum. I think you might have a Krider’s Red Tailed Hawk. They have a pale head and front.
