Helping a city pigeon (2 Viewers)

Good morning everyone,

I just subscribed to this forum as I am seeking for your help. I was not aware that such a nice forum existed well may up until i need it.

So I was going home and i found this helpless pigeon on the edge of a ground level window. It was quite tired and looked like it would die very soon under the heat of the sun. So i took it home, what i first noticed is that it can’t fly, the legs are not moving at all. It looks pretty weak, eyes half opened. I can’t find any injuries, it can spread its wing forward but the legs are like completely put of use.

It is not eating and was not drinking.

I was able to hydrate it by placing a spoonful of sugary water under its beak. But still no food after 10 hours.

What i also noticed now is’that it is breathing twice as fast as the normal (about 1or 2 inhales per second) and that it is not pooping at all.

I put it in a box with a tender cloth under it, it looks like its taking small naps but what’s more important is that it looks a little better than when i found it (aware with well opened eyes).

The problem is that not veterinary or association are willing to help as they only take in juveniles), so it looks like im on my own on this.

Thank you

Are there are any wildlife centres near you who could help?

Hello Kits,

Thank you for yoour reply, there is but they don’t take or give assistance this kind of pigeon (city). They only accept to help it they are juveniles and this one is an adult.

They actually kind of told me that I have to take care of it myself or to leave it as is.
