Hi alltogether. Birding in the Picos in July (1 Viewer)

We are two nerdy advanced beginners, who had been interested in birds for years, running around and trying to understand what we see and hear. This year we finally did a course on birding in the very West of Austria. From "Bodensee" up in the Alps.
And now we are in the Picos! We have seen a lot of Griffon vultures in the La Hermida gorge. Stone chats and black redstarts and the more. And we certainly would love to see bearded or Egyptian vultures. Or short toed eagles. Because we do not have them at home. We do have a lot of kites and buzzards and even golden eagles in our mountains.
So we would be very happy if anyone would have us some ideas where to go in the Picos. We don't mind a longer walk. We now stay in the Western part and we do have another 5 days ...
We would be so grateful.

Hi Eberhard and Vanessa and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. You might find our Opus article on the Picos de Europa of interest and I'd also advise posting your question about the area in the Information Wanted forum where more people are likely to see it.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
