Hi from Norfolk Island (1 Viewer)

After many years as a keen birder in Australia, mostly up and down the east coast, my family and I have recently relocated to Norfolk Island, in the middle of nowhere about 1400km E of Australia.

Great seabirds this time of year and a few interesting endemics. I've started a blog on the natural history of the island to share what I learn, if you're interested (http://naturalnorfolk.com/wp/). It's not all about birds, but a bit of focus since that what I'm interested in.

Try and do most of my birdwatching floating on my back looking at the sky down at Emily Bay - beautiful part of the world.

Craig

Hi Craig,

A warm welcome to BirdForum from all the Moderators and Admin. Glad to have you on board :t:

I look forward to reading about the birds where you live :t:

Welcome to Bird Forum. Norfolk Island is a great part of the world from what I've read. It has links# with the Isle of Man such that the Norfolk Island flag was flown at the TT Grandstand at one recent TT Festival.

# I read that Fletcher Christian, who was of a Manx family, has descendants living on Norfolk Island.

Hi Craig and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when lying on your back;).
