Hi, I recently relocated to Dumfries and Galloway and have been enjoying doing more birding of late. I've just bought a compact spotting scope having only used binoculars for the past 30-odd years and found the range of opinion, advice and discussion to be found in threads on this forum really useful, so thanks for that!

Hi Martin and a warm welcome from me too.
You sure have landed in a great part of the country for birdwatching - I love it down there. All things Scottish can be found here. Keep an eye on threads titled Scottish Bashes, we used to have one or two meetings each year and they were all great fun. Hopefully we'll be able to organise some more in the future.
I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
