Hello there. I’m Garry and live in West Yorkshire. I Have been watching for the last few months two little owls who live in separate dry stone walls on either side of the field outside my house. They often sit on the fence and size each other up.
I’m a bit worried because I haven’t seen either of them for about 3 weeks. I would also hear them calling through the night but have not heard them either.
Any idea what could be happening. Will they be brooding? Any reassurance would be great thanks.

Hi Garry and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Sorry, I can't help as I've so little experience of Little Owls - we don't get them round here (or if they are here, their presence is kept a closely guarded secret).

It could be that they don't need to call just now, as they have established their territory and found a mate.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
