Ha! Thankfully I note that the date of the first post was August! Our RSPB Group were there in September! Sighs with relief.;) It weren't us then! I say the above because I do know that when our group visits Blacktoft there is quite a bit of chatter about the birds. Many of the group are fairly new to birding so some of it is the excitement of finding new species and wanting to learn from fellow birders. In that respect I see a little acceptable 'noise' as a very good thing. I'm only too pleased that people can get excited about birds and other wildlife. However even our members would not be rude enough to make life unpleasant for others.;) I had a little smile whan I saw Colin's list of who he noted had been put forward for banning. Having been part of this forum for sometime I have seen each of these groups take some stick before. A bit of tollerance (SP) is the key I think and a quiet request to 'keep the noise down please'. Having said the above, I don't like hides full of people myself. I have been in the hide at Minsmere trying to watch Bitterns when people were almost standing on one anothers shoulders, and a volunteer with the RSPB kept shouting out everytime he found a Bittern o anything else that moved. I put my own rule into practice and showed tolerance before I quickly moved on. I do get annoyed with out and out rudness. A guy recently came into the peaceful local hide with enough camera equipment to make a David Attenbourgh series and proceeded to drop it all on the hide floor. As the hush returned I was waiting for a quiet apology from him which never came. Now rudeness is something I won't tollerate!
