Message: <blockquote data-quote="Farnboro John" data-source="post: 1540412" data-attributes="member: 36432">Reminds me of being in a hide at Slimbridge in January (or it might just have been February) 1987.  It was packed with birders seeking a Lesser White-fronted Goose (all on the way back from a Pied-billed Grebe at Kenfig - whatever happened to those then?).  Two WWT staff members pitched up and couldn't get in.  They were annoyed.  "How can we find it for you if you don't make room for us?"  I was by the door and told them I thought we would manage.  They stormed off muttering to each other about stupid birders.  The hide crowd included Messrs Millington, Gantlett, Evans, Heard, Bland, and about eighty other worthies and of course the bird was located fairly rapidly.  I have no objection to assistance or advice either but staff should know when to stop.  Or not start.John</blockquote>
