Planning on doing Big Bend during our next trip to the southern states. Where is the best place to stay in order to hit the trail to Boot spring at dawn (or just before)?

Well, obvious place would be the Chisos Mountains motel.....but for a cheaper option you can choose somewhere just outside the park like Terlingua and leave a bit earlier....also gives you the bonus of a little 'night drive' into the park - we had kangaroo-rats, nighthawks, etc

Thanks. I think you picked up on what I meant ... "best" meaning cheap.
