Hokkaido. At sea (1 Viewer)

More Hokkaidian birds last August. Pics taken within one minute from a cape Northeast of the island. The birds were very far. At first I thought they were the same bird but now I see C looks like a diver, the other letters I don't know.

These are really difficult because of the low resolution and artifacts. One possibility is that they're all spectacled guillemots. Certainly D is. I suspect they all are—don't look like murrelets to me—although many seem to have red bills.

Spectacled guillemot was my first thought as well and I agree D is almost certainly one.

They are Spectacled Guillemot, note the big white patch around the eye and the dark plumage
