House Crow? In Djibouti (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
Dear members and bird watchers

I have identified this bird as a House crow. BUT! When I saw the bird the first time I thought about a vulture because the shape of the head.

There are many of them looking like this, but also many normal looking house crows. House crow are on the "Birds in Djibouti list"

See attached picture, the head looks, well, reminds me of a vulture. The browning is maybe because it is a young bird, I guess like the carrion crow with brown feathers.

Anyone know if this is a House Crow?

Kind regards

Your first photo is most likely a younger bird as you suggested, which still looks quite brown, whilst the second shot is of a fine looking adult.
