For when the legs of the tripod are extended, I have devised a hand strap the top end of which is attached just below the panhead at the top and the lower end of the strap around the centre column, just below the leg pivots. Extend the centre column until you get a good point of balance and away you go!As for not being "cool", I couldn`t care less!</blockquote>
