Has anyone considered a tripod bag? I got one free when I got a second-hand tripod and it does make life much easier. I carry the scope in the rucksack. Selection here http://www.warehouseexpress.com/category/basecategory.aspx?cat03=3022 Obviously not ideal if you're in a birding environment where you need it at the ready but for long distance walks where it's the destination your interested in or on a reserve with hides I think it's a better solution. I've been told that carrying a scope + tripod using the shoulder strap on the scope's SOC is a bad idea because the thread inside the scope foot isn't meant to hold that kind weight (ok if your just using a centre column or really lightweight tripod though) and worst case scenario you may have to send away your scope for an expensive repair if the thread becomes damaged. My thoughts anyway. :t: Adam
