It works best with the center column slightly extended, which brings the attached scope down a bit, otherwise you keep banging your skull against the scope each time you look up at the sky.I experimented a bit by turning the combo upside down and strapping it backpack style, the scope under and the tripod legs up, because the weight of the scope is better balanced this way, with my carbon fibre lightweight tripod. This works OK, if the legs of the tripod aren't spread out. Only downside is there's no room for an additional backpack for the other stuff. So I also take a small bag and carry it bandoleer style, under the scope-rope backpack. Regards, Ronald</blockquote>
