How is my list going?

Better than any previous year, but it will slow down when the rarities arrive as i do not twitch (it took me 6 weeks to see the white crowned sparrow). Currently on 159 and appearing on all the listing top tens for the year, now where is my agent?

Two more

I added 133. Cooper's Hawk the other day; it was hassling a Bald Eagle that was flying over our street.

Yesterday afternoon at Spring Creek Park (Tomball) I spotted:
134. Northern Flicker.

A trip down to Foxcourt Reservoir, near Buckingham for the Ring-necked Duck was worth it in the end, although it took over two hours to locate it, as it had been hiding in the dense waterside vegetation.

I birded for a short period today, under snowy conditions. I did manage to see a new bird for the year, which puts me at an even 100.

100. Pine Siskin

Although I have not kept a year list so keenly until this year, I think it is going better than any previous year (though, in comparison to others' lists, it is going very badly!). I am on 95 so far this year, latest two being Peregrine and a couple of out-of-place Grey Wagtails. I have mostly been restricted to local sites so far eg Nonsuch Park and Beddington SF. I have got to catch up soon and I have a huge list of sites that I need to visit to catch up on winter birds before they go.

I am doing a county Big Year in Montana, US
I am located in the NW corner.

So far I am at 76 for the county. My goal is a little bit over 200.

I know right? "76!! wow that isn't a lot at all!"

Well up here we don't get may species. Maybe, on a good day in late May, you could get 10 warblers, maybe. That is what it is like. On the upside. You can easily get all the NA falcons. All I need are Kestrel and Peregrine.

Finally, the temps have warmed some and all of the snow and ice is beginning to disappear. I birded this morning around Lewis & Clark State Park which is about 20 minutes drive south of Saint Joseph, Missouri. I added three birds to my 2008 Missouri List.

84. Wood Duck
85. American Robin (would you believe it, I had not seen one in Missouri this year until today!)
86. Franklin's Gull
