Today was a little slow after yesterday's eight year birds, but I did pick up two new birds this morning.

159. Grasshopper Sparrow
160. Gray Catbird

After I got home I thought I had another new bird for the year. I heard an Eastern Wood Pewee in the woods behind my house, but when I went out to look for it I saw a starling doing a perfect pewee imitation.

Had a tip off about a 'mad' Capercaillie a few kilometers outside of Uppsala yesterday, so a couple of us went to see him early this morning. He didn't disappoint! He was very feisty and aggressive. Also picked up a few easy year ticks that I should have seen months ago.

256. European Crested Tit
257. Willow Tit
258. Red Crossbill
259. Western Capercaillie

Had a cracking day Yesterday, picked up Tawny Pipit, Nightingale and Woodchat Shrike (all Lifers) to take me to 140. Also saw only my second Black Stork of the year and managed to get some pics.

This afternoon while driving slowly down a country lane with my windows down (listening for birds), I heard the distinctive song of a Tennessee Warbler. I stopped and got good looks at a pair, and even managed to take a poor-quality picture.
