It's been raining a lot recently and under the bird feeder there is a small area that has an ant mound. I raked all of the wheat straw and put new one since it's time to replace it. But the ant mound still grew over the wheat straw. I should have used a plastic under it but didn't think it would grow again but it did. So right now when I saw this, I simply dug more of that out and put it in a bag. I then covered that area with a plastic bag and put a lot of wheat straw over it. What is the best and safest way to get rid of this ant mound? This means it can't harm or kill the birds that are eating from the wheat straw so it shouldn't be something toxic. It can only be something safe. Thanks.

How to get rid of ant mound? Help (1 Viewer)

Try boiling water. I had a few and after pouring boiling water on it a couple of times it did the trick. They also make out door ant bait traps were the bait is hidden inside ( birds can't come in contact)and they take it back to nest. They come with stakes to hold them in place.
