It wasn't you who saw it go past Hoylake at 1530 (on Birdguides!)?

No, alas not

It was off Meols I believe. It went out to sea and missed me and Hilbre out. Most unlike Searwaters , they normally miss out east Wirral and show off to us west Wirralites

Currently wnw 7 - perfect for here. Leach's visible from where I am typing. In fact, bye!

Birdguides reports it at Meols at 1515 and Hoylake at 1530. But they might be getting confused!

Shipping Forecast - Issued: 1725 UTC Tue 14 Sep

Wind West veering northwest 6 to gale 8, increasing severe gale 9 for a time.

That will do it. Also W9 in Malin and Rockall, so the feed of new birds shoud continue

Had 40+ leaches in 1 hour tonight off Peel in the Isle of Man.
Absolutely crazy. Maximum Ive had there before was 15 in 4 hours.

Easterly?... Its a straight Westerly at the moment. Thats why I went down, I was hoping the strong westerlies would have pushed something else into the Irish sea from the top end.
Frigatebird would have been nice :)

i can't see the low tide mark just now, its below a sand bar, plus its raining hard. 9 Leach's and 10 Manxies so far, one of the latter barely airworthy

I'm itching to get to the coast probably Formby or Crosby but I can't make it untill tomorrow, I hope there will still be a few birds around! I'm praying the wind keeps up.

Wind Northwest 5 to 7.

Windy enough to keep petrels in the bay. I can see a couple from home

Managed to get to Crosby this morning - a total of 10 Leaches seen, a couple very close and thats 10 more than I saw last year! Plenty of very tired looking Guillemotts and a close view of a Fulmar, 1 juve Kittiwake and loadsa Common Terns, didn't see any Skuas though it was 10ish when we got there and we left about 3.
