How's your 2021 list going? (1 Viewer)

My fifth day in Idaho. I added four species to my Year List, including a lifer (in bold), my third of the trip.

298. Sharp-tailed Grouse
299. Sandhill Crane
300. Trumpeter Swan
301. Wilson’s Warbler

Just as I crossed into Wyoming for a couple of hours yesterday, today I crossed briefly into Montana, where I saw the warbler.

My sixth day in Idaho. I added four species to my Year List.

302. Rock Wren
303. Gray Flycatcher
304. Clark’s Nutcracker
305. Marsh Wren

My seventh and last day in Idaho. I fly back home tomorrow. Today I added three species to my Year List, including a lifer (in bold).

306. Dusky Grouse
307. Slate-colored Fox Sparrow
308. Black Tern

All in all it was a successful trip. I saw a total of 124 species. Of those, 53 were new birds for the year, four were lifers, and four were ABA Area lifers. I had a target list of seven species and I managed to find five of those. The two I dipped on were owls, so missing them was not too surprising.

Wow, my work drains so much energy that I find myself not only unable to study in the weekday evenings, but also not to get out in nature in the weekends...just too tired. I'm planning on working less, at least next year, maybe earlier, to have the energy to enjoy my hobbies. That will also mean earning even less (really low earnings) so travel abroad will become even more unfeasible. At least I'll be more able to enjoy my own country's natural riches then :)

Waiting for about a week to add Neotropic Cormorant to add to my typed list. We have three of us listing it. We need an outsider to check all we have on it, as my reviewer also went there. He can't approve his own sighting. My photos in this list:
I've never added a bird in July for the county in July. State yes.

I've been taking a bit of a break from the forum recently and I've also had very few birding opportunities in the past couple of months. Lots of glaring omissions on my list, one of the worst of which I found this morning. Most of these birds were seen in Hortobagy NP. Lesser Spotted Eagle was a lifer which was seen in Slovakia and Willow Warbler in Poland. I hope to add a couple of new year birds in Poland before I head back to Hungary. We will see.
