Just as I crossed into Wyoming for a couple of hours yesterday, today I crossed briefly into Montana, where I saw the warbler.

All in all it was a successful trip. I saw a total of 124 species. Of those, 53 were new birds for the year, four were lifers, and four were ABA Area lifers. I had a target list of seven species and I managed to find five of those. The two I dipped on were owls, so missing them was not too surprising.

For the last two weeks I have been in Mecklenberg Vorpommern in the NE of Germany. We stayed in near Barth and covered the Bodden near Barth and the Fischland Darß-Zingst penninsular, adding the following:

Wow, my work drains so much energy that I find myself not only unable to study in the weekday evenings, but also not to get out in nature in the weekends...just too tired. I'm planning on working less, at least next year, maybe earlier, to have the energy to enjoy my hobbies. That will also mean earning even less (really low earnings) so travel abroad will become even more unfeasible. At least I'll be more able to enjoy my own country's natural riches then

I've been taking a bit of a break from the forum recently and I've also had very few birding opportunities in the past couple of months. Lots of glaring omissions on my list, one of the worst of which I found this morning. Most of these birds were seen in Hortobagy NP. Lesser Spotted Eagle was a lifer which was seen in Slovakia and Willow Warbler in Poland. I hope to add a couple of new year birds in Poland before I head back to Hungary. We will see.
