OCTOBER 2022 - MONTHLY OVERVIEW
  • Lifted the year list slightly to 269 from 261 the previous month.
  • Only got to go out once but saw 39 species, including 1 lifer - and, any birds I didn't see last year get a (+).

October 9

Another great day at Hughes Hollow with local birders from the Montgomery County Birding Club. Saw 39 species, including tons of warblers, six types of woodpeckers, and a lifer in the Lincoln's Sparrow.

This and several other rarities have shown up at the same spot in Guadalix de la Sierra in the last week, including a juv Kittiwake about 200 miles inland.
