deeestuary said:Jane must be away (?) but a very good day today in a strong NW wind. At Dove Point (a short distance from Jane's house) I saw 26 Leach's Petrels in about 45 minutes just after high tide. Over 100 seen from Hilbre. See more details (and my latest newsletter) on the website: www.deeestuary.co.uk
Jane Turner said:116 Was a Yellow-browed Warbler Alas it was a straight through job. I heard it while kneading bread in the kitchen. Got one quick glimpse of it before it moved off. Plenty of Goldcrests and Chiffchaffs today.
That is the second YBW for the garden![]()

Bet it had you bouncing up and down a bit though! oJane Turner said:Decency prevents me repeating what I was doing when I saw my one and only Iceland Gull from the house.

Jane Turner said:Had a storming bird yesterday. Looked out and thought ah nice - there is a Black Redstart on the lawn. An obvious redstart, with a quite prominent wing panel formed by crisp pale tertial edges and pale seccondary fringes. Then it flew up on the garden wall. Big eye ring, pale cream vent and throat, more grey/peachy on the breast. It was also rather slim. I've seen birds like this before, on Fair Isle, with Eye-browed Trush, 30 Yellow-browed Warblers and loads of siberian pipits. I'm assuming its a samamisicus Common Redstart, but am looking into it. Alas it moved off quickly west. Also had a Lesser Whitethroat which went through just as fast. I have an inkling this might have been from some distance east too. It was new for the year - so that is 118
Er... don't know Richard... If its the eastern race of common Redstart then perhapsdeeestuary said:Is this the same as a Ehrenburg`s Redstart?
