I checked on the "Birds of Northern South America" book and I'm pretty sure it's a juvenile female White-tailed Goldenthroat. They have a buffy belly and chest and white markins on the face (stronger below the eye, but a developing one above, just like the bird pictured). Plus I saw a white undertail when the bird took flight. The book says:"open savanna with thickets and bushes, favours wet grassland, marshes, near streams and foothills of tepuis". While we certainly don't have any tepuis around here, the bird sure was in a marsh. Nothing like a good book huh...</blockquote>
