I made a website for customized eBird alerts (specific hotspots or regions, specific individual birds or lifers) (1 Viewer)

Hello birding community. As a hobby project, I made a website that can give more customized eBird alerts.

http://www.birdalerts.info/

I'm very new to birding, but I made it because I was feeling that the eBird alerts didn't give me exactly the kinds of alerts I wanted. I'm sharing it with the community in case anyone else finds it helpful like me!

The site I made is simple but allows you to:
  • Get alerts for individual hotspots or custom geographic areas (like hotspots within 10 miles of your house)
  • Get alerts for new lifers, rare birds, or specific individual birds (or any combination of them)
  • Get alerts at varying frequencies from every 15 minutes to daily
Some caveats:
  • Only sends alerts for hotspots, not personal locations
  • Only for the US currently
As I said, I'm relatively new to both birding and web development so I'm sure it could be improved in many ways. Would love to hear any feedback if people try it out
