Attached is a photo I took yesterday September 25, 2020, at Robert Long park in Commerce, Michigan, USA (suburb of Detroit). It is swimming and eating in a small pond. It's obviously some kind of duck. But is it an American Black Duck, or just an ordinary Mallard?

Probably a Mallard on its way out of eclipse, with some harsh lighting. Could possibly be a hybrid, but certainly not a pure ABD.
Mallard - a male just coming out of eclipse.

It's an ordinary Mallard.
