I'm having trouble identifying a certain bird. The picture doesn't have amazing quality but I believe it is enough for an ID.
After examination and help from other photographers, we reduced the options to either a Spectacled Tyrant or a Wren-like Rushbird.
The picture was taken on March 16th, 2021 at the Loa river, northern Chile.

Of those two, it looks far more like female-type spectacled tyrant. Unfortunately (as I imagine you know), that species would be (according to the book) substantially out of range there.

My (purely personal) view is that it is better, if you already know such things, to state them at the time you ask the question - otherwise it may look as though you are setting a 'trap' for people by withholding relevant information.

I'm really sorry if it seemed that way, I can assure you that it wasn't my intention. Still, I'd like to thank everyone who participated in this thread for helping me identify this bird.

Hi Fran_ic.birds and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

According to ebird, you already have this observation approved as this species? Unless you are the reviewer for that area yourself ?
