I just got mine from NHBS and sadly they suffer from the color printing deficiencies mentioned above. No problems with page trimmings on first glance

The majority may just be fine, and some deficiencies doesn't chance the value of this two volume set! Feel a very negative vibe here, due to maybe some colouration that in general will bring no problems for identification of birds on the specific pages. This is where the book is used for, not to stand on the shelf an look beautiful with no deficiencies! I know how much trouble the author and the people that helped went through, and how long the translation took, and I can only applaud the authors and companions, for this masterwork (it changes the WP identification forever)!

I have no doubt a lot of work has gone into it - but the price point of the work necessitates that the printing and production should be first rate, which clearly does not seem to be the case. For that price we are entitled to expect a book that has the correct colours and doesn't have the various issues that have been flagged here

My feelings exactly @twitcherf
To be honest, the only reason I have left my (as yet unfulfilled) order in place is because it avails of the pre-pub price but I am in dread of having to go through a returns process if necessary - not really sure if the hassle would be worth the saving but am keeping my fingers crossed that I get a good copy ...

Agreed... I'm hoping that now Birdguides are aware of the issues they will put something in place to make sure only good copies are sent out.

I contacted Birdguides about my order today. They said mine has been dispatched (even though I asked to cancel it a few days ago) but if I receive a faulty copy, I should 'phone them and 'they will tell me their free returns address'. They will then give a full refund, presumably after receiving the book.

They said they have had a lot of calls about this and have asked their management to put up a notice on their website explaining what Birdguides intend to do about it going forward. Wait and see.......

Would it be possible to post an image of an affected page for reference please? Just so I can see how obvious this is. Thanks.
