Amazon will wait until November before they will send the volumes to me
I have preordered through a Danish bookstore and it is the same. It seems that some EU bookstores (Including Amazon Germany) have the US edition, which is released on October 22nd. In Denmark the US editions are often a lot less expensive than the UK editions of the same titles.

Yes, the 3cy Pallid Harrier and especially the 1st winter Caspian Tern are bluish in the original. The cuckoos are also quite bluish.
It obviously never bothered me!
Maybe it's chromatic aberration. I read somewhere this is fairly common in Chinese products...
;)

It's a shame if the recalled copies won't be offered for sale anywhere as a great bargain to be had if you don't mind the odd error.

On another note as they have understandably omitted species with less than 5 accepted records would anybody have an educated guess as to the number not covered?

I am quite frustrated with Birdguides over this and would be quite happy if they cancelled my order too like Harry's.
I ordered on August 7th and have not received the books yet though I see others have had delivery.
Three replies to queries have all given a slightly different response but it seems my order was dispatched a while ago with DPD. No details of anything like a tracking number though.
This week's Birdguides newsletter even says that publication is imminent - a message I had last week says that the books were released on August 20th - and of course they were available well before then

My order went in with Birdguides on the same day as @Steve Lister and just like, Steve I'm still waiting, it does make you wonder if Birdguides are stalling and trying to figure out how to sort the issue.

Today I had another phone call from the lovely lady at Birdguides, apparently my books have gone missing at some point during the delivery process, so another set have been sent out today,...the saga continues.

I have my refund now so looking for an alternative supplier. Do nhbs pay for returns of faulty books? Are they quick and efficient for delivery?

Not sure if they pay for returns but, nhbs use Royal Mail Tracked 48. But saying that my last two orders have taken four days to arrive as it takes them a couple of days to dispatch.

On a plus point, delivery is only 1p if you order before September.

Morning all.

I ordered my books through NHBS. I had an update email last Thursday, 22nd August, saying that they were ready for dispatch. A week later I’m still waiting for news that the books have been dispatched.

Regards

Just had an email from Birdguides saying my books were not dispatched due to an error.

They have now resubmitted the order, so will see when it arrives.

Can someone provide the phone number to chase up a Birdguides order please? I ordered mine from them three weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing. Thanks.

Many thanks. I wanted, and received thank you very much, the number that people were successfully using on this subject rather than the base 'Google' number for Birdguides. I phoned up and was told they'd chase it up and they would reply with an email to me if they got a response from whoever is supposed to be sending them out...
