I'm not very astute at the molt sequence of thrushes (or many other birds for that matter!) but it looks like this bird is in heavy molt by the worn edges on the coverts and the tips of the retrices. I would think a juvie would show a pale gape which this bird doesn't seem to show. Do thrushes undergo complete molt before heading south? Maybe. Swainson's is a fairly early southbound migrant out here. Here is a Swainson's I digiscoped in April at the beginning of the season for comparison.
