Medicinal Birding
Hi everyone
I'm currently on a Volga River Cruise tour and during our stop in Uglich yesterday I came across a family group of Acrocephalus warblers. As birding wasn't my purpose I didn't have my camera so these are "biniscoped" and thus are of rather poor quality.
I noticed them by their Lesser Whitethroat like "tak" calls. While I was viewing them thing I could notice were that two bird, presumably adults, were cold greyish brown while two birds had some rufous tinges on upperparts. They had prominent superciliums in front of their eyes and noticeably plain wings. The pp looked to be short while I was viewing them. They were alternating between a low tree, a slightly higher willow-like tree and some undergrowth, about 10-15 meters from a small swamp which was surrounded by a park near the Church of the Spilt Blood. They called constantly.
Here are the videos. The second doesnt really show the bird but you can hear them calling a lot.

Also attached some stills from the video showing the banana posture etc. The warmness of the upperparts changed a bit with the lighting.
I think these are Blyth's Reed Warblers. What'd you think?
Thanks a lot for your help!
