Identify this wildfowl (1 Viewer)

A farmyard duck of mallard ancestry.
Of course the answer which Mono gave to the ID-picture is correct, but I wonder if in Jamkat's question the wish for a more specific answer was involved (not specific in ornithological sense). There are duck farms where the whole population (for meat production, perhaps also for eggs) consists of such white birds, and besides the ornamental waterfowl keepers have them. I remember a name "White quacker" for such ducks, but that is only one of many tame breeds ("races"). Could be interesting to explore that field, but it lies beyond the BirdForum: members do not either identify escaped canaries and budgerigars according to the races or colour varieties of aviculture.
Just a nice white duck in wild ("bewildered") status in a pond . . . Cheers, Jan van der Brugge
