Hope you are well....:t:

Hi Colleen,

More a case of ploughing for planting early. Unfortunately, in most of England, farmers start the winter wheat & other crops straight after harvesting the last.

In the past the stubble fields would have been left until early spring (and therefore provide great habitat & food for wildlife) when Spring wheat, etc were planted.

By the season's end the fields are green again (& of little use to farm birds) and the wheat just grows whenever the temperature allows.

Great images again, U.

Even tho i was in twitching mode on the day of the 'Robin' my camera could not resist the shadows and sands rippled by the sea...:cat:

These pix were taken at Holme after watching a Short eared Owl flying high over the sea being harassed by a playful Peregrine...

Fascinating and intriguing are two words I use most on this thread - for very good reason!!!

Cheers Tim...

I feel fairly sure that the two words less kind folk might use would be.."baffling" and "barking"....:smoke: Chuckle...!

I would try and explain that last set of images but i'm sure it would sound 'naff'..however i will say that, to me at least, they do reflect nature...time...and the mark of mankind upon the earth....[see..i told you it would sound rubbish]...;) I have a love/hate relationship with words...:cat:

ps...cheers to you too Phil...:t:

Many thanks for the clappy icons Gaby...:t:

A lot of birders don't have 'much time' for pigeons n doves....[but me...i love 'em]...

This little collection just reflects the time of year...color wise...[last image onset of winter]...

Perhaps i have subconsciously been influenced by all the 'flowering' Diwali rockets that have been firing through the darkened Shire skies...:cat:

ps...beware....it rains 'sticks' at this time of year...[mind your head]...;)
