Yes! cheers dougie, enjoyed the company and couldn't have asked for better views, would've been nice If there had been some light for photo's.
Nice shots Steve, Looking through mine, looks like I have similar on the post but none of the flight shots look to be any good, the cat looks O.K. though :-O.
I'll post a few later when I've had time to process, I might even come accross a decent Little stint, that is if I can find It :-O.

Glad you enjoyed it Steve, they're superb birds to watch - especially when you're eye to eye with them!.....

No joking folks, when we arrived 'on site' we had good, but distant views in canny light, then later on we were blessed with the most amazing close ups, (albeit in poor light and no good for photos:C) - at one point the bird was no more than 20 feet away at head height - owl watching doesn't get much better than that!:t:

Also, just to vary the pics slightly, I think Ray is going to post a photo of a cat in East Boldon metro station:-O

Thanks lads - top night!

Cheers, Dougie.

On processing them now Steve.
The honey buzzard was never going to be a prize winning shot but I'll stick it up here to show the wing damage I heard mentioned several times by various people.

When a Barn Owl as you say is eye to eye! and peals away at the last moment, great experience!....even if the light is not good.

Barn Owl

Barn owl crossed Prince Edward Road at the entrance to Beaconside at 8.40 this evening. The owl flew into Beaconside but I lost it in the houses.

Well done with the images - cant recall seeing too many photos of BO's hunting in Co.Durham at all:t:

Barn Owls

Had an hour this evening watching the barn owl(s) at the usual site in South Tyneside. Good views had but too dark and too distant for photos.

When I was leaving another birder arrived but I was not being anti-social my dog was getting spooked by the wood pigeons flapping in the trees and was barking so I decided it was time to go.
