Thanks mate:t:

there was one that spent a lot of time in the harbour 2/3 yrs ago, it got quite 'friendly' then it just moved off. single male BN dolphins often seem to seek out other relationships there are several famous examples fungi in Eire is probably the best and longest example he's been around for years and then there was of course freddie up at amble. lets hope he hangs around a while

Aye they were a bit distant but you managed to get them both of them in the frame - i didn't come anywhere near what you got. Nice to have a natter and it always makes things easier when there are 3 pairs of eyes opposed to 1!!

As kids we used this method for catching newts and small fish.

Probably a newt / amphibian survey, but now illegal to do unless licenced.
I think I can probably guarantee it was by an approved surveyor.
(But they should have been lifted before 12.30!)

Is this a linnet ?

apologies for the photo, heavily cropped. heard the bird before i saw it, loud screeching type noise. I have never seen one before, my daughter told me a while back that she had seen a bird with a red head on the feeders, i told her it was a linnet, showed her pics and she adamant it wasn't (shes 11). anyhoo this was in the tree today, small back garden middle of a housing estate in washington.
