I always enjoy your trip reports and marvel at how different the birds you see regularly are to those down my way. It's a rare walk I don't see a Med Gull but some of your regular species are like Hen's Teeth locally.

Thanks, Richard. Glad you enjoy the blog. Myself and a birding buddy were talking about that sort of thing recently - how a visitor up this way can be excited seeing something we take for granted (like Ospreys, or even Eider) and how the opposite is true when we are elsewhere too.

Oddly I saw my first Osprey in many years on Saturday, fishing in the Swale. Yes it did cause excitement :)

Nice one. I'm always happy to see one though it is incredible just how often I see them down by the river at both ends of the city (not to mention a few sightings from up on, and around, the Law) from April to early September.
