Op here...Well, no replies in couple days of posting so I pulled the dead chick out. Its head was out and the body was stuck. Was barley was able to the pull rest of it out of the bird house hole. No way would a bird have the muscle to fight its way out if to big for hole. The first day after baby died Mom and Dad spent much of the day on patio railing looking at each other and were not very active. They spent yesterday taking stuff out and what I assume there version of "spring cleaning". Today, Mom is inside of birdhouse and Dad is close by chirping loudly at me when I open side door (by kitchen) . Other times when he can't see me inside the kitchen he will sit on top of house and they'll chirp at each other, but in a lower voice. I think they are sitting on eggs again. Being no replies on original posting, I didn't do anything to make hole bigger and just removed the dead chick. This was also the first time birds house only had one chick. Guess I'll let nature take its course and see what happens next. We have maybe 8 bird house around on property. This is only bird house that gets birds every year. But then again the other bird houses of wives are mostly the "cute" version. "Cute" as in a bird house that looks like train station or lighthouse or old boot. More of decoration than a bird house I guess.
