Injured Mallard! What to do? (1 Viewer)

I have a friend in Wayne Co, MI that discovered their neighborhood male Mallard is injured. He's limping pretty bad and doesn't seem to be able to fly. She called the wildlife rehabilitator for her county and they not only don't do pick ups, they don't do waterfowl. What can she do?

For now, the neighbors are trying to feed the Mallard family but the female seems to be beside herself.
