Introduction, Help needed (1 Viewer)

Hello I am a birder from Karachi, Pakistan. Currently no one is leading any bird ringing expeditions here. I wanted to do it. One of my experiments is here on my blog...https://birdinginpakistan.blogspot.com/2020/04/bye-bye-birds.html
Can someone help me with basics or link with an article.
What is needed? How do we determine the numbers/codes? How will others contact me in case of recovery? can we ring poached/trapped birds and then release them? etc
Can I do it solo as I don't have a birder nearby especially for ringing?

The BTO here in the UK govern and guide all aspects of trained bord ringing and migration studies. Have a read of the bird ringing section, strict training is required to learn the correct techniques and gain valuable experience in all aspects, particularly the handling and welfare of trapped birds, before a ringer's permit or licence is granted. Also try Birdlife International to see if there are any active groups near you.

Good luck.

Thank you Pat, this will be really helpful. To be honest, I don't think that or wildlife authorities even have bird ringing licenses or any training facilities.
