Is there an app that allows use of phone’s 5x lens to digiscope?

Just to be clear, I am considering purchase of a 16pro that has 3 different camera lens, and am wondering about the possibilities of being able to digiscope using the 5x telephoto lens. With the 15pro there have been reports that in order to use its 3x lens to digiscope one must use a different camera app. Does anyone have expedience digiscoping with the 16pro?

I can’t answer your question but it’s worth noting the specs of the lenses on the phone. The main (wide) lens is 48 MP f1.8 and the 5x telephoto is 12 MP f2.8. That might have an impact on image quality if using the 5x

It's frustrating - the native camera software is designed to move between lenses so it's the same with the 16 and as the 15, you need to use Beastcam or a similar 3rd party app. At least as far as i can see.

I have the 16 pro max and when digiscoping I tend to use the main lens and zoomed in slightly to 2 x gives me the best results, this is a pic I took of the Orion Nebula

Some phones, like the iPhone 15 Pro Max, have advanced camera features that can work well for digiscoping
