Hi there! I know this will be a super common bird, but I'm just not too familiar with European birds. This was in a busy park in Dublin. Is it a Song Thrush?

Thanks!!

Hello Susie,

do you have more pictures? Far from a confident answer, because those very young juvenile Song and Mistle Thruses are difficult, but I agree with Paddylucke and David:

  • many very young Song Thrushes are darker, warmer brown
  • the white outer tail feathers are better for Mistle Thrush, although I am no confident here
  • the shape of the spots is difficult to judge in such very young birds, at least for me. But shape is better for Mistle Thrush imo.
  • and exact hue of underparts is very good for juvenile Mistle Thrush
