January 1st joint Birdforum list (2018 edition) (1 Viewer)

black redstart, short eared owl and cettis warbler on the Clevedon (UK) day list today amongst about 75 species in total.

To the 99 UK birds at post 42 I think I can only add Red Legged Partridge and (escapes) Bar Headed Goose (North Tuddenham, Norfolk, at 1.30 pm)

Eyeworth Pond, Milkham Plain, Mark Ash Wood, Blackwater (briefly) then on out to Pennington where the weather cleared. After that, just Blashford and finally a watch over Black Gutter Bottom.

77 on foot from Falmouth. Overslept by 2 hours (alarm was set for 6, girlfriend woke me at 8am), got back about an hour ago. Bit knackered now.

Seemed like I was missing loads of common stuff, and no special birds about this winter (except 1 YBWarbler which didn't show today), but a good variety I guess, and pleased to find Dipper, Common Sand and Goosander on patch!

No idea what I'm adding to the main list at the moment -

Quick skim through the thread and I think the only birds I can add are King Eider, Cattle Egret, Glaucous Gull & Common Scoter, unless any of them have already been contributed and I missed it.

EDIT - And Red Kite?

Just about warmed up after slogging round south Devon in heavy rain (morning) and gales (afternoon). Fortunately not both at the same time...

Anyway, Broadsands was pretty quiet but there were some quality birds there including these that I don't think are on the UK list yet:
Cirl Bunting
Firecrest
Great Northern Diver
