Joint Birdforum Lockdown List - April and May (1 Viewer)

Of my 53 lockdown birds only a handful have been seen outside the garden. 2kms for the Eagle Owl, Whinchat - shopping trip, Yellow Legged Gull - shopping trip etc...

That said I forgot for March (23rd) to count the Ring Billed Duck (lifer) and Iberian Chiffchaff (lifer) in the lockdown count. Both seen in Portugal during the first part of my lockdown with my girlfriend.

My 53 only counts birds in France. That reminds me must check the Swifts for an Alpine.

Any Swift so would be nice here Rosbifs but not likely in this cold wet spell!
Just done a rough check on my lockdown list here, I think it’s 59, just three seen away from the garden on food shopping, Goosander, Grey Wag and Hawfinch.

Golden Orioles are special birds. We get the very similar Black-naped Oriole here, but I'm yet to see one this spring, and its getting a bit late now.

I'm almost annoyed I saw another Terek Sandpiper yesterday morning while birding elsewhere on Lantau Island, for which I have a sort of patch list. Had I not seen that one the birds on the marsh would have been a Lantau tick.

It's now a new month I know, but a few looks in the last couple of hours has added a distant Besra and even further out an Osprey on the rocks out in the bay.

A pair of typically skulky Garden Warblers on my morning walk, think that's a new one. Along with a couple of Redstarts brings my lockdown list to 94.

My state has lifted the shelter in place order, so I suppose from here on out I am disqualified (yes?) from contributing to the North American list, but I've had a mind to keep tallying anything seen on foot from home. I'll continue to post them at least, and I'll have them in case we collectively decide to transform this into a "green" list as suggested.

Bobolink was a nice yard list addition this morning, a little flyover flock.

Realised I have one that makes it onto the Joint UK (and probably European list too) - an inland flyby Black-throated Diver from the back garden on Saturday during the weekly garden big sit. A touch unexpected!
