Just small addition on s non scientific eponym.

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims:
Jouanin's Petrel Bulweria fallax Jouanin, 1955
Christian Jouanin (b.1925) is a French ornithologist who began his long association with the Paris museum at aged 15 as a pupil of Jacques Berlioz (q.v.), who was in charge of the bird department there. His interests have been divided between hummingbirds and petrels – an apparently strange association, but one shared with Osbert Salvin (q.v.) who was active in the 19th century. Jouanin pointed out the differences between 'his' petrel and Bonaparte's Pterodoma aterrima (now Pseudobulweria aterrima), describing it as a new species. This event stimulated his interest in the Indian Ocean and he began to search for the breeding grounds of P. aterrima, a species that had not been collected since the preceding century. His quest led to the discovery of another unknown gadfly petrel, which he named for Armand Barau (q.v.). Shortly afterwards he made the distinction between the Réunion and Seychelles populations of Audubon's Shearwater Puffinus lherminieri, naming the Seychelles representatives nicolae after his wife (1947). He participated with Francis Roux in G. E. Maul's (Director of the Funchal Museum in Madeira) expedition to the Selvagens. This resulted a lasting friendship with the Zinos. Jouanin is co-author with Mougin of the chapter on the 'Procellariiformes' in Peters' Check-list of the Birds of the World, Vol 1, second edition (1978). He was General Secretary of the French Societé Nationale de Protection de la Nature (1966–1981). He was Vice-President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) (1970–1975), and a Permanent Executive Committee member of International Ornithological Committee (1970–1978).

If we read here Christian Jouanin (1925-2014) or on Wikipedia. Take it for what's worth.
